The Niemeyer Centre in Avilés is a unique example of contemporary architecture in Europe and allows us to extend the bases of the Pilpayu Project to 20th century architecture. A didactics based on the author is proposed. Every day we will meet one of the great authors of modernity in architecture; Le Corbusier, Mies van Der Rohe, Lina Bo Bardi or Niemeyer himself, among many others. Each of them will allow us to delve into the relationship of architecture with different aspects: urban planning, structure, forms, art, space, materials or territory.
Initial workshop: Le Corbusier in 5 points
Le Corbusier was one of the great architects of the twentieth century, because he revolutionized architecture through a new approach known as International Style that he explained at length through writings, lectures, lectures and, of course, projects. Thanks to this, his fame spread all over the world making his theories were, and continue to be, followed by disciples all over the world, which is why he is known as one of the Fathers of Modern Architecture. All his work and architectural theory is based on “the 5 points of architecture” and to develop them always in reference to human dimensions thanks to his Modulor.
