MIES es + // Charles & Ray Eames

25-26 Marzo de 2017

The third session of the Mies cycle of the 2017 course in the CGAC was destined to the pair of designers composed by Charles and Ray Eames. Charles had the training of architect and Ray in the fine arts and together formed some of the most innovative and influential design studies of the twentieth century.

During the sessions we reviewed several of his furniture designs, film works and exhibitions for IBM, toy design and of course his famous studio house.

With the group of 6-8 years we reproduced the mythical photo of the couple in which they are lying on the ground and trapped by various structures of the plywood chair. We also had the opportunity to build our own version of a giant scale of the House of Cards game and after we made our own designs for card castles.

The group of 9-11 years ventured directly to the construction of their study house, an innovative architecture for the time in which 2 buildings were designed: one fixed a dwelling and the other a work. It was not easy because it is one of the most complex constructions of Super Lupo to date but thanks to our skill as architects and constructions we managed to carry it to good port with an unbeatable result.
