PILPAYU – Medieval architecture

In the cradle of Asturian Art and in collaboration with the Asturian Pre-Romanesque Interpretation Centre we propose this first stone of the Medieval Pilpayu project where we will work on the techniques and architectures typical of the high Middle Ages.

The constructive and architectural tradition has its roots in the time of stonemasons, guilds and master builders, who from city to city will be the bearers of knowledge transmitted from master to apprentice. This knowledge mix of audacity and technique will be reinforced by the experimental character of his creations, learning by doing will be a maxim of a long period of time where trial-error will be a normal dynamic.

Starting from these same premises, a series of workshops are proposed where the participant will deepen in this historical moment traditionally linked to wars and obscurantism, but full of artistic richness and technical audacity.
